On Saturday, December 13, 2025, the Lawrence Historical Society will host the First Oval Office Project, an immersive living history experience presented by the Museum of the American Revolution at the historic Brearley House. Step inside a full-scale, meticulously hand-sewn replica of George Washington’s Revolutionary War field tent—the mobile headquarters where he strategized, dined, and slept while leading the Continental Army.

Washington’s war tent was the heart of leadership, struggle, and hope during the Revolution. The exhibit tells the story of Washington and all who served beside him, from soldiers to civilians and communities. The weekend will feature living history reenactments, student docents, and educational programming, connecting Lawrence to the NJ250 commemoration.
