Box by Box, Princeton Consolidation Move Begins, One Office at a Time

Public works staff load boxes from Borough Hall onto a truck headed for the Township Municipal Building.

As of today, some Princeton Township and Princeton Borough employees have started sharing office space.

The first two offices for the consolidated Princeton were moved to the Princeton Township Municipal Building today. The Borough finance and tax collection offices are now located within the Township finance and tax offices at 400 Witherspoon Street.

Borough Administrator Robert Bruschi said the affordable housing and human services  offices will be moved next week, probably on Wednesday.

“Then the engineering department, the first real major move, will take place a week after that,” Bruschi said. ” After that, the schedule a little foggy. But things are coming together. It is very exciting to finally get to this point. It’s a good thing.”

Bruschi said the combined staffs of both communities made the move a smooth one. Public works employees for both municipalities provided workers for the move. Bruschi praised staff members who prepared for the move while  continuing to provide services to residents.

By late afternoon, the new offices were close to fully functioning.
