Four men were charged with soliciting without a permit in the borough this week.
Greg Lewis, John Carroll, John Gilbert and Reginald Nelson, all men from out of state, were trying to make sales door to door June 1 on Westcott Road, Wilson Road and Hawthorne Avenue. Residents complained and the men were arrested. Some of them had outstanding warrants in other municipalities.

A 40-year-old make was charged with possession of marijuana and soliciting without a permit on May 30. Dwayne Coleman of Chicago was arrested after police responded to complaints about a man selling items door to door on Wilton Street. A $180 warrant was already out for Coleman’s arrest in Madison Township and police found Coleman in possession of pot. He was released and his court date has been set for June 6.

A 21-year-old male hit a car at the intersection of Nassau Street and University Place after making an illegal u-turn May 28. Nicholas Friedman of Cambridge, Mass., was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and multiple motor vehicle violations. He was released and his court date is set for June 6.

A Lytle Street resident was charged with harassment and contempt after police responded to callas about an altercation at his home May 23. Genri Del-Cid, 30, of 20 Lytle Street was arrested and later released. His hearing is set for June 6.
