Tomorrow night the Princeton Regional School Board will hold a special meeting to weigh participating in a solar panel program organized by the county and to discuss proposals for the use of the older portion of the Valley Road School site.

The board will meet at 7 p.m. at the district administration office on Valley Road. Presentations for the use of Valley Road by two groups interested in the site are scheduled for 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.

No decision will be made on the competing proposals for the Valley Road site, School Board President Rebecca Cox said. The board will most likely make that decision at the board meeting later in the month.

Borough, township and fire department representatives will present their proposal to take down the old building and use the site for an expanded fire department, first aid and rescue squad, and new space for Corner House.

The Valley Road Adaptive Reuse Committee will then make its proposal to rehabilitate the site for use as a hub for nonprofits like TV 30, Corner House and other community groups. Numerous community groups have shown interest in sharing space at the site. The space would be rented at affordable rates. The group is trying to raise money to make needed repairs to the site, such as replacing the boiler and fixing the roofs.
