Holt Praises Obama for Quick Action on NJ FEMA Funds

U.S. Rep. Rush Hold issued a statement this morning applauding the fact that all 21 New Jersey counties, including his home turf Mercer County, have now been deemed eligible for federal disaster assistance through FEMA.

“I am grateful for President Obama’s quick action to allow disaster relief funds to begin flowing to New Jersey,” Holt said. “Hundreds of thousands of New Jerseyans continue to deal with the painful aftermath of Hurricane Irene, and the President’s declaration will help us to take a significant step down the road to recovery.”

Holt wrote to Obama last week to request that the earlier, narrow disaster declaration be expanded to include additional counties.
