Restaurant Week: Dining Well on the Cheap

Elements will participate in Restaurant Week.

It’s time to make reservations for New Jersey Restaurant Week, that annual opportunity to try out new restaurants without spending a lot of money. (How else could you get a multi-course meal at elements in Princeton for $19?).

In addition to offering value, many restaurants go out of their way to be innovative and craft interesting meals in hopes of drawing in new customers and keeping them.

New Jersey’s third annual Restaurant Week is set for Sept. 18-25 and will feature multi-course lunches for $19 or less and dinners for $35 or less. Smaller restaurants and delis where meals traditionally fall below the $19 and $35 mark will offer value-priced specials for the week.

Several of Princeton’s finest already have signed up to participate. Elements will offer a $19 prix fixe lunch. Also participating in the borough are Teresa Caffe, Mediterra Restaurant and Princeton Soup & Sandwich, which will have both prix fixe lunches and dinners. On the outskirts of Princeton Magma Pizza & Pita will have special offerings while Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and the Rocky Hill Inn will offer prix fixe dinners for $35.

Restaurants around the state are participating, and the list is expected to grow up until Sept. 18. To find out which restaurants are offering specials see the website dineoutnj.com, which has a search engine for easy access to the list.
