Princeton Professor Cornel West Arrested at U.S. Supreme Court

Princeton University professor and activist Cornel West was arrested while protesting on the steps of the Supreme Court about corporate influence in politics Sunday afternoon.

About 20 people were arrested Sunday afternoon after they refused to leave the court grounds.

West attended the dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial on the National Mall before joining the Stop the Machine protest in Washington’s Freedom Plaza.

The protest marking10 years since the start of the war in Afghanistan also focused on corporate greed.

West had said on CNN that he intended to get arrested.
