Taking Stock of Locks on St. Patrick’s Day

Princeton’s favorite St. Patrick’s Day hang out didn’t disappoint last night, as crowds packed the Alchemist & Barrister to raise a glass (or two) for a good cause. Planet photographer Dave Cardaciotto was there to capture the moment.

Each year the Alchemist & Barrister raises money for a charity through its St. Patrick’s Day festivities and  longbeard contest. Awards are given out for the longest beard, shortest, most handsome, and more. This year the A&B raised more than $10,000 for Derek’s Dreams. The non-profit supports 14-year-old Princeton resident Derek DiGregorio, who has a rare, neurodegenerative disease called Ataxia Telangiectasia that causes severe disability.

Jessica Hall checks out Jon Robinson's beard. Jon takes reddest beard. All photos by David Cardaciotto.
Tim Hinton wins ugliest beard. We fancy his cap though.

Princeton Twp Mayor Chad Goerner voted handsome beard.
Candice Fuccelle of Beenie's Salon in Ewing

The River Dancers entertained the crowds with some fancy footwork.
Howard Levy's family cheers him on as he wins longest beard.
Justin Little has a hair plucked.
Get a magnifying glass. Andrew Hsieh wins shortest beard.

That's a very mayoral St. Pat's bow tie.
Derek Huninghake takes most creative beard, but we give him a first place for the eyes.
