Friday, October 12

Friends of the Princeton Public Library Book Sale – Books, DVDs, CDs at the annual sale to benefit the library. Runs until 5:30 in the library’s community room and Hinds Plaza tent.

ArtJam Opening Reception – Art exhibit and sale to benefit HomeFront, featuring national and local artists. Exhibit and sale runs until Oct. 22. Opening reception tonight, 6-9 p.m., at 67 Palmer Square West, free.

In the Pink Fashion Show – Breast Cancer survivors and their families, doctors, nurses and supporters model fashions from local stores. Benefit for the YWCA Princeton’s Breast Cancer Resource Center. Includes reception and silent auction. Starts at 6 p.m. at the Westin at Forrestal Village. Tickets $100.

John Hiatt and the Combo performs at McCarter Theatre –  Singer songwriter performs, including tunes from his latest album `Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns’. 8 p.m. in Matthews Theatre. Tickets $20 to $48.

Phantom of the Opera at the Princeton University Chapel –  Silent movie with organ accompaniment by Michael Britt, 9 p.m.. Tickets $10.

Saturday, October 13

Friends of the Princeton Public Library Book Sale – Books, DVDs, CDs for sale at the annual fundraiser to benefit the library. Runs until 5:30 in the library’s community room and Hinds Plaza tent.

Trinity Church British-themed Reception and Auction – Support the Trinity Choir’s trip to England by purchasing a ticket and bidding on some items.  Hors-d’oeuvres, cocktails, door prizes and music. Auction items include a Paris Apartment, an Italian villa, and a Disney vacation. Donations from the bent spoon, McCarter Theatre, Coolvines, Promusica, Masala Grill, Bon Apetit, The Peacock Inn, Sharpening the Quill Writers Workshops and more. Starts at 7 p.m. at Trinity Church, tickets $25 at the door.

Sound Bites with Luke Elliot and His Band – Sound Bites concerts at the Arts Council of Princeton offer refreshments, art, and a cool vibe. Opening the show at 7:30 pm will be Stephanie White and the Philth Harmonic. Tickets $10, $5  for Arts Council members, students and seniors.

Sunday, October 14

Jazz Sundays at the Princeton University Chapel – Enjoy a spiritual jazz Sunday with the Princeton University Jazz Vespers Ensemble, 11 a.m., free.

Fall Harvest Festival at Terhune Orchards – Wagon rides, corn stalk maze, adventure barn, and music. Rain or shine. Food available. Wine tasting. ‘Picture Perfect at Terhune Orchards,’ a photography exhibit, on view. Alpacas and their breeders present toys, fibers, and clothing for sale. 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the 330 Cold Soil Road farm. $5 admission (children under 3 free).

Half Off and By the Bag Day at the Friends of the Princeton Public Library Book Sale – Books, DVDs, CDs at the annual sale to benefit the library. Runs from 1 to  5:30 p.m. in the library’s community room and Hinds Plaza tent. All books half off, $5 a bag in tens 3-5.
