A gas main leak at the new Princeton International School of Math resulted in the school being evacuated this morning, police said.
The gas main leak was caused by construction at the site, which is located at the former location of the American Boychoir School on Lambert Drive.
Princeton Police, Princeton Fire and Princeton First Aid responded to the scene to investigate the report of the gas main leak and determined that partial evacuation of the building was necessary for the safety of approximately 50 faculty, students and staff. PSE&G also responded to assist in securing the scene.
The initial investigation into the cause showed that a gas main was struck by a piece of construction equipment, and was caused by an improper marking of the gas line prior to construction. No injuries were reported and at the time of this release, and PSE&G had been able to shut the main off at the street.
