U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Captures South Brunswick Car Thief
The United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force has captured fugitive Hassan Brown in Philadelphia. Brown was wanted in connection with a series of car thefts and burglaries in South Brunswick from September 26 to September 30.
South Brunswick Police disrupted Brown and Roberto Alicea, 19, of Delran as they were committing burglaries in the Beekman Manor Development on September 30th. A foot chase resulted in the capture of Alicea. New Jersey State Police aviation and K-9 units assisted in looking for Brown but he escaped.
The United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force joined the search in early October when it was learned that Brown, who is originally from Trenton, had fled the area. The task force followed several leads before capturing Brown early Monday. Brown is currently lodged in the Bucks County Correctional Center awaiting extradition to New Jersey. He faces burglary and theft charges.
Several area police departments had issued warnings to residents to lock their vehicles because of the thefts in South Brunswick.
