Fire Damages House of Cupcakes in Downtown Princeton


The House of Cupcakes on Witherspoon Street caught on fire at about 1 a.m. The fire spread along the roof of a row of businesses and became a three alarm fire.
No one was hurt.
It is unclear how much damage was done to the House of Cupcakes building.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. As of 7:30 a.m., firefighters were still at the scene checking neighboring businesses for damage.
The House of Cupcakes, winner of the tv show Cupcake Wars, has two other locations in East Brunswick and the Bronx. The couple who runs the House of Cupcakes also opened a fourth business in the West Village in New York City, but closed the shop after a few months.
