University Place Detour, TigerTransit Bus Stop Relocation Begin June 4
Starting on Wednesday, June 4, University Place will be closed to thru traffic from College Road to Alexander Street due to construction of the Princeton University Arts and Transit project. The road will remain closed until about mid-July. The Wawa customer parking lot will still be accessible via the roundabout on Alexander Street.
A detour will be in place for the duration of the closure. A temporary traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of College Road and Alexander Street that will be operational while the detour is being used.
Local access to and from the metered diagonal parking spaces along University Place south of College Road adjacent to the McCarter Theatre Center will be maintained via the College Road-University Place intersection. Pedestrian and bike paths in the area will be shifted during this construction phase.
The TigerTransit and TigerPaWW (Princeton to Princeton Junction) bus stop will be relocated from University Place, currently adjacent to the Wawa parking lot, to College Road, across from the circle at the McCarter Theater Center. The TigerPaWW bus between Princeton and Princeton Junction and TigerTransit buses will stop at this new location. Bus schedules will not change.
