Plowing Match at the Howell Living History Farm – Annual Plowing Match. Watch and participate in the event, which features old-fashioned plowing and log pulling competitions, a craft and pony rides for children, and lots of food, music and old-fashioned fun. A dozen teams of draft animals from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York are entered in the match, which tests the performance of farmers, their horses and oxen, and their plows as they turn furrows. Judging will take place from 10 a.m. until noon. Winners of the Fine Plowing Class will receive trophies, ribbons and cash prizes. 70 Wooden’s Lane, Lambertville. 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free.
World’s Fair Family Day at the New Jersey State Museum – Explore the exhibit “‘New Jersey On Display: World’s Fairs and the Garden State.” Ice cream, hands-on crafts workshops and activities exploring the importance of the World’s Fair inventions. 205 West State Street, Trenton. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission $5.
Indo-American Fair at Mercer County Park – Annual entertainment and cultural festival at Mercer County Park in West Windsor features handicrafts, ethnic dresses, fashion, henna, jewelry, and Indian foods. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entry fee is $2.50.
Sangria Saturdays and Sundays at Terhune Orchards – Visit the winery and tasting room at Terhune Orchards and sample some delicious sangria. Also sold by the glass. Pick your own gala apples while you are there. Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
