Just before 8 p.m. Friday night, Princeton Police investigated a reported bomb threat at the CVS Pharmacy on Nassau Street. A store employee allegedly received a phone call from unknown male caller stating that a package containing explosives was inside the store, police said. The building was evacuated, including the store and above-store apartment units. The surrounding area was closed to pedestrians.

Police patrols, with the aid of the Mercer County Sheriff Department Bomb Unit and a Mercer County K-9, searched the store and apartment units. The Princeton Fire Department and Princeton First Aid Squad also responded to the scene. No suspicious packages were found. There were no reported injuries.

Anyone with information concerning this investigation should call the Princeton Police Department Detective Bureau at (609) 921-2100.

This is the second time in three months that a caller has made a bomb threat at the CVS. In June a caller demanded that he receive money via Green Dot cards or he would detonate a bomb in the store.
