A Princeton resident skidded off the road and struck a tree while driving along Mercer Street Wednesday afternoon.
Abbie Farrow, 56, was driving her 1997 Ford Expedition just before 1 p.m. and was traveling north on Mercer Street near Hale Drive when she skidded off the roadway and struck a large uprooted tree with her vehicle’s front end. She had to be extricated from her vehicle.
Farrow suffered upper and lower body injuries, and was transported by Princeton First Aid and Rescue to the University Medical Center at Plainboro. Her injuries were non-life threatening. Farrow’s Ford sustained extensive front end damage and was towed from the roadway by Quick Response towing out of Hillsborough.
Mercer Street was closed to vehicular traffic for approximately one hour during the investigation and was reopened at 2:15 PM. Slick, snow covered roadway conditions were a contributing factor in the accident. The accident is still under investigation and no summonses have been issued to date.
