2014 “Snow’da” by Patton Ave. residents Ellie and Molly.

Leave extra time for your morning commute. Work crews and police are reporting that roads are already slippery Monday morning.

Snow will begin again later this morning and become heavy at times late Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning. About 14 to 18 inches of snow is now expected for the Central New Jersey area.

Travel is not recommended between 9 p.m. tonight and 9 a.m. Tuesday along the Interstate 95 corridor from Philadelphia northeastward to New York City and eastward to the shore. Powdery wind-blown snow will increase dramatically, making travel much more difficult. Snowfall rates from near Cherry Hill and Philadelphia northward will increase to near one inch per hour for several hours. Closer to New York, two to four inches of snow per hour are expected tonight, especially in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

All NJ Transit operations will make their final departures from origin points at 8 p.m. and their last stops by 10 p.m. NJ Transit operations will be shut down Tuesday. Bus and light-rail will resume Wednesday, and rail will resume Thursday. Systemwide cross-honoring of NJ Transit rail, light rail, bus passes and tickets in effect from Mon, Jan. 26 through and including Wed, Jan. 28.

Recycling is being picked up in Princeton Monday as scheduled.
