One Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash on NJ Turnpike in Cranbury

One person is dead and more than 40 people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Cranbury Township last night.

All of the southbound lanes near the Molly Pitcher Service Area were closed through the night. Early Tuesday morning, the inner lanes were reopened, but the outer truck lanes were still closed, police said.

The accident happened just after 9 p.m. in the southbound outer-roadway of the New Jersey Turnpike near mile-marker 71.3.

About 15 vehicles involved in the crash including four tractor-trailers, two box trucks, a bus, and multiple cars, police said.

State troopers are still on scene investigating the crash this morning.

The name of the crash victim has not been released yet.
