The Princeton Council unanimously voted Monday night to reduce the speed limit on Edgehill Street from 25 miles per hour to 20 miles per hour.
Council members also voted to remove a parking space on Mercer Street near the intersection with Edgehill Street in order to improve visibility.
An Edgehill Steet resident told the council it is difficult to make a left from Edgehill on to Mercer Street because it is hard to see oncoming traffic if a car is parked near the intersection.
“There is no visibility at the intersection,” the resident said. “It is dangerous. I recently witnessed a horrible accident there. Removing parking will help.”
The resident also voiced support for reducing the speed limit, saying lowering the limit would “send a message to people to be cautious.”
