Hamilton Man Dies in Hopewell Crash

Just after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, a Hamilton man was traveling northbound on Scotch Road just north of Interstate 95 in a 2004 Nissan 350 when for an unknown reason his vehicle ran off the roadway to the right, striking a drainage culvert.

Nicojon Dacayanan, 26, was extricated from his vehicle and was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center by the Ewing Township Emergency Services with paramedics from Capital Health System. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Union Fire Company and the West Trenton Fire Company assisted on scene.

The crash is being investigated by Hopewell Township Police Officer Michael Toth, Detective Michael Sherman, and Detective Don Santora of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
