Ground Services Co. at Trenton-Mercer Airport Bought by Larger Operator

merecer airportLandmark Aviation, the refueling and ground services company at the Trenton-Mercer Airport in Ewing, has been purchased by BBA Aviation for $2.1 billion.

Landmark, based in Houston, provides support services to business and general aviation customers at 68 locations, including 64 in North America and four in Europe. It also offers charter, aircraft management and maintenance services.

The deal, if approved by shareholders and regulators, would expand BBA’s Signature Flight Support business, which provides refueling and other aviation support services to the owners and operators of private, business, military and commercial aircraft. The London-based company has one of the largest business aviation support networks in the world, with more than 130 locations in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, South America, Africa and Asia.

After the transaction, Signature would offer support services at 189 locations, including 133 sites in North America. The deal is expected to close in early 2016.

“We welcome Signature to the Trenton-Mercer family,” said Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes in a written statement about the deal. “A company of this size and caliber brings a proven track record of quality service for our aviation users. We had a good relationship with Landmark Aviation, and I expect to have a good relationship with Signature. I look forward to a long and productive future with them.”
