Princeton Man, 90, Injured in Scooter Accident on Cherry Hill Road
A 90-year-old Princeton man was riding his scooter along Cherry Hill Road just before 10 a.m. when he struck the rear of a truck.
William Otis was traveling south on Cherry Hill Road on a 2009 People 5000 scooter when he hit the rear of a 2015 Mack truck that was driven by Richard Gares, 47, of Easton, Pa. The truck was stopped in the southbound lane of Cherry Hill Road just south of Stuart Road. The driver was delivering gravel at a nearby construction site.
Otis fell from the moped after striking the rear of the truck and suffered minor head, arm, and leg injuries. He was transported to the Capital Health Systems Regional Medical Center in Trenton by the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad.
The truck operator was uninjured.
Cherry Hill Road was closed between Stuart Road and Cherry Valley Road during the investigation and was reopened at 12:38 p.m.
The accident investigation is still being conducted, police said.
