If you are a Bank of America customer and you have received a call in the last two days claiming you must update your account information and give the caller your social security number, you are not alone.
Some Planet readers have reported that they have received hundreds of robo calls in the last two days. The robo calls are a scam. Do not provide any information to anyone claiming to be a representative from Bank of America. Most of the calls are from a blocked number or a number in Florida.
One reader said she talked to a customer service representative from Bank of America today and was told that along with customers’ phone numbers getting out in a data breach, it is possible other information was stolen.
Call your Bank of America branch to report suspicious calls. One caller said she canceled her bank account and got a new account number because she was concerned about security.
