Kathy Monzo, the deputy administrator and director of finance for the town of Princeton, has accepted a job as the administrator of North Brunswick Township in Middlesex County.

Monzo has served as the deputy administrator of Princeton since Princeton Borough and Princeton Township consolidated. She was a finalist for the administrator job in the consolidated Princeton, and she served as the acting administrator of Princeton Township the year before consolidation. Previously she was the township’s chief financial officer and tax collector. She has worked for the municipality since 2004.

“This is bittersweet for me. It wasn’t an easy decision to make. I love Princeton, but this is such a great opportunity, I just couldn’t pass it up,” Monzo said. “I’m really excited, but it is very sad to have to say goodbye and leave. I’m thrilled to have been able to work with a great municipal team. The employees in Princeton are just outstanding and they have made it worthwhile to come in to work every day.”

Monzo begins her new post June 1. She replaces Robert Lombard, who decided to retire.
