Severe Thunderstorms Possible in the Princeton Area Sunday Night

thunderstorms June 5 2016

Severe thunderstorms are possible on the Central New Jersey area this evening, according to the National Weather Service in Mt. Holly.

The greatest threat for strong to severe storms will exist from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the stronger storms likely in the Princeton area between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.  Winds up to 65 miles per hour are possible, and could cause flooding, hail, or downed trees and power lines. The probability of widespread hazardous weather is low, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms should move offshore by midnight.
