A West Windsor man who failed to appear in federal court in New York was arrested last week in the township, and now faces state weapon and drug charges.
On Wednesday morning, June 15, the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force attempted to execute a federal warrant at 11 South Post Road. They observed fugitive Alexander Rosario with heroin in plain view.
Officers took Rosario into custody on the arrest warrant out of Manhattan for failing to appear at a court appearance, and then obtained a search warrant.
A search of Rosario’s residence revealed eight bricks of heroin, three handguns including one with a silencer, 10 grams of crack cocaine and about $3,000 in cash.
Rosario, age 41, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, four counts of possession with the intent to distribute, multiple weapons offenses, possession of stolen property and maintaining a narcotics production facility. He is being held at the Mercer County Correction Center in lieu of $750,000 cash bail on the new charges.
