Some Northeast Corridor Train Lines Delayed as Police Search Stations

Some Northeast Corridor line trains to and from New York City have been cancelled this afternoon or are running behind schedule due to police activity.

The 3:30 p.m. NEC 3855 from New York to Trenton was canceled due to police activity at the Elizabeth station.

Northeast Corridor and Midtown Direct trains are still subject to 30 minute delays due to earlier police activity in Elizabeth.NJ Transit rail tickets and passes continue to be cross-honored by PATH, Ferry service, NJT and private buses.

A Princeton resident who was headed into New York City this morning said his train pulled in to New Brunswick, and all the doors were shut. No one was allowed to enter or leave the train for about an hour as police and police dogs searched the train.

Monday morning, a suspect in the Saturday bombings in Chelsea and Seaside Park was captured in Linden. Bombs were also found at the Elizabeth train station on Sunday. Authorities say the blasts were looking increasingly like an act of terrorism with a foreign connection.
