Princeton School Bus Crashes into Church Driveway

Tuesday afternoon at about 4 p.m., a Princeton Public Schools bus carrying nine passengers turned into the driveway of 33 River Road at the Princeton Church of Christ to make a u-turn. The driver, Wendy Johnson, 54, attempted to pass through an overhang that is attached to the building. The top of the bus struck the overhang, causing damage to the bus and structural damage to the building.

The bus was a 20-passenger bus that was carrying seven minors who live in Princeton, and two adult passengers. All seven minors were transported to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro for precautionary reasons. No serious injuries were reported.

The Princeton Technical Rescue Unit, Princeton Fire Department and the Plainsboro Fire Department responded to the scene due to the structural damage to the building. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
