Stretch of Route 27 Will Be Closed All Weekend

The New Jersey Department of Transportation will work on the Route 27 bridge project this weekend. Route 27 will be closed between Route 518 and Promenade Boulevard. The closure will start tonight, Friday, Oct. 14, at 9 p.m. and the road will remain closed until Monday morning, Oct. 17 at 6 a.m.

The Route 27 project will entail the construction of a temporary bridge in preparation for a drainage project that is scheduled to begin later this fall, officials said.

Expect delays in the area this weekend and to seek alternate routes during the closure. Detours will be posted for motorists choosing to use Route 27, police in South Brunswick said. The closure will force more traffic onto Promenade Boulevard, New Road and Route 1.
