Princeton Police Blotter: Pedestrian Hit Crossing Ewing Street

A-74-year old Princeton resident was hit by a vehicle and injured when she was crossing Ewing Street on Thursday, Jan. 5.

Connie Rubel, 74, sustained head injuries and was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton for treatment.

Rubel was walking east through the intersection of Valley Road and Ewing Street at about 2:40 p.m. when a grey Toyota Rav 4, operated by Mei Zhao, 73, of Avenel, was traveling west on Valley Road approaching Ewing Street. The Toyota made a left turn onto Ewing Street to travel south, and struck Rubel. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

South Harrison Street Burglaries

On Jan. 3, someone forcefully entered an unoccupied home on the 300 block of South Harrison Street. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken and the investigation was turned over to the detective bureau for follow-up. A second home on the 300 block was forcefully entered the same morning. The home was unoccupied at the time. Nothing appeared to have been taken. The investigation was turned over to the detective bureau for follow-up.

An 18-year-old resident of Lawrence was arrested on Jan.4 for for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. After a motor vehicle stop for failure to use headlights when
required, Patrick Saladyga, was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Saladyga was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released with a pending court date.

A 34-year-old West Windsor resident was charged with driving while intoxicated just after noon on Jan. 4. Subsequent to a report of a suspicious person driving on Province Line Road, Alice Kao was arrested. Kao was transported to police headquarters, where she was processed and released with a pending court date.
