Do you have a musical instrument you or a family member are no longer using? A child in Trenton could put that instrument to good use. You can donate instruments to the Trenton Community Music School instrument drive, which is underway and ends tomorrow, March 24.

The school teaches at-risk kids in Trenton about music and creativity in a group setting. One of the school’s programs, the Trenton Music Makers, is an intensive after-school orchestra for kids in grades three to eight that is modeled on the acclaimed El Sistema orchestras founded in Venezuela.

Band and orchestra instruments in good condition will be gratefully received, and tax-deduction letters will be provided. You can drop off instruments at the Princeton Symphony Orchestra at 575 Ewing Street in Princeton, the Hopewell Valley Central High School main office or band room, or Studio B Bakery & Bistro at 439 Broad Street in Trenton. For more information or if you can’t drop an instrument off by the deadline, visit www.trentoncommunitymusic.org.
