Woman murdered in Hopewell Township on Tuesday

A woman was murdered in a home on Washington Crossing-Pennington Road in Hopewell Township on Tuesday, law enforcement officials said.

Police received a call from the homeowner just after 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Hopewell Township Police Department responded to the residence on the 400 block of Washington Crossing-Pennington Road. Upon arrival, police found a dead woman in the house.

Authorities are working to positively identify the victim and an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. There was no forced entry to the residence and authorities believe that the homicide was an isolated incident.
