Frontier Airlines adds flights from Mercer-Trenton Airport to Minneapolis

Frontier Airlines has announced the addition of another non-stop flight destination from Trenton-Mercer Airport. The airline will operate non-stop flights between Trenton-Mercer Airport and the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.

The additional route brings the total number of Frontier destinations from Trenton-Mercer Airport to 12.Two months ago, Frontier announced its largest expansion to date,  introducing service to 21 new cities and 85 new routes.

“These new routes continue to connect people to the places they want to travel,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president commercial for Frontier Airlines. “With our low fares and reliable service, we offer the best value in travel.”

The airline has posted its schedule through August 11 of 2018. Some destinations like Detroit are not served in the winter because of lower demand, but service will resume in March. Some schedules will change. For example, Frontier offers daily service to Detroit now, but in March of 2018 the airline will offer service to Detroit dour days a week.

Frontier is one of two commercial carriers that operate our of Trenton-Mercer Airport. Allegiant Air began offering flights to Florida in November of 2016 and recently announced it was cutting two routes.

Some residents who live near Trenton-Mercer Airport oppose any expansion or adding of routes because of noise issues. A group has formed called Stop Trenton-Mercer Airport Expansion.
