Portion of Alexander Street to be closed Thursday and Friday for utility work in preparation for bridge replacement project

Alexander Street will be closed between Faculty Road and Canal Pointe Boulevard on from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m Thursday and Friday, August 15 and 16, police said.

Utility work will be conducted in preparation for the state and county bridge replacement projects, which are slated to begin on Nov. 6.

Patrons of Metro North and residents of Karin Court and Basin Street can access the restaurant and homes via the Alexander Road and Faculty Road intersection.

Police said all through traffic should use Washington Road. Detour signs will be posted.
