Two residents of a Plainsboro nursing home die after contracting the coronavirus
Two residents of a nursing home in Plainsboro have died as a result of complications from COVID-19, and four other residents at the same nursing home have tested positive for the virus.
The two residents lived at Atrium Post Acute Care of Princeton, which is located at 5000 Windrow Drive in Plainsboro. (NJ.com mistakenly listing the location of the facility as Princeton).
“Our hearts go out to the families of the two patients we lost as a result of it and we pray for a positive outcome for the other four patients,” the nursing home said in a statement.
The state restricted access to long-term care facilities to protect residents. More than a quarter of the 81 coronavirus-related deaths in the state have been at long-term care facilities. On Thursday, state officials announced that a long-term care facility in Woodbridge was being shut down after 11 residents of that facility died due to complications from the coronavirus.
Planet Princeton is still waiting for more information from the Middlesex County Health Department about the ages of the two residents. We will update this story when we have more information.
