NJ nurse describes toll protective equipment shortage is taking on healthcare workers
Pam Tavarone is an ICU nurse at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Passaic, a hospital among the many facing shortages of personal protective equipment. After a week and a half of using her own makeshift safety gear, she tested positive for the coronavirus. Her story about equipment shortages echoes that of other healthcare workers in the state, who say they have to reuse masks and other protective equipment.
