South Brunswick mother and daughter die as a result of complications from COVID-19

A mother and daughter in South Brunswick died 17 hours apart as a result of complications from the coronavirus, police said.

The daughter was 33 and was a lifelong resident of South Brunswick. She graduated from South Brunswick High School. She died at her home Monday evening at 5 p.m.

Her 70-year-old mother died at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The father in the family is also sick with COVID-19.

“These are some of the most difficult days and we ask for everyone’s continued thoughts and prayers for all those impacted by the virus,” police said in a statement about the deaths.

Middlesex County has the sixth-highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, with 3,717 positive test results. One hundred people in the county have died as a result of complications from COVID-19.
