Storm brings down trees and wires, closes some Princeton area roads

Heavy winds from the storm that hit the Princeton region on Thursday brought down trees and wires, knocking out power in some areas and closing several area roads.

In Princeton, the following roads were closed as of 2:30 p.m. Thursday: Pretty Brook Road at Brooks Bend, the 700 block of Princeton Kingston Road, Hardy Drive, the 100 block of John Street, the first block of Maple Street, and the first block of Florence Drive.

In South Brunswick, Henderson Road is closed. Several utility poles are down on Henderson Road near St. Augustine of Canterbury. Power is out in the area and is affecting traffic on Route 1 and Route 27. Police advise drivers to void the area.
