Local Democratic club dues optional this year

Dear Editor:

Happy new year. I am pleased to announce that membership dues for the Princeton Community Democratic Organization (PCDO) are optional for 2021, and if you are a registered Democrat, I invite you to consider joining us. The PCDO is committed to diversity and inclusion, and by making dues optional, we hope more Democrats will choose to join in the fight for Democratic values in our town, in New Jersey, and in support of the Biden/Harris administration. We understand this has been a difficult year for everyone. We offer outstanding programming on topics of interest to Princeton residents. Our guests on Zoom have included Senator Cory Booker, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker, County Clerk Paula Sollami-Covello, and Mayor-Elect Mark Freda. We’ve also hosted representatives from the ACLU and from the Princeton Police Department. The PCDO is the place to be engaged on the issues of the day.

All registered Democrats are welcome to join. Go to our website at www.princetondems.org and click on Join/Renew to join. PCDO is New Jersey’s largest and most active Democratic club, and all organizations require funding. We are counting on voluntary contributions from members at any level meaningful to them to support our efforts. Thanks to the past support of our members, we were able to make donations to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, to all the House of Representatives candidates in Central Jersey, and to key races in other parts of the county – including the Senate runoffs in Georgia.

Time is of the essence. Our first monthly meeting of 2021 will be on January 24, when we will vote on the new Executive Board and a Better Ballot resolution. While all are welcome, to be eligible to vote, you must have become a member by January 10. Whether you choose to be an active volunteer or simply kept in the loop on important issues, we hope you will consider joining. We look forward to seeing you.

Democratically yours,

Jo Butler
President, PCDO
