People line up outside the arena in Trenton to get COVID tests on a recent Tuesday.

Mercer County residents, as well as first responders and health care workers who work in the county, can get a free COVID-19 test for the next three Tuesdays, Jan. 12, 19 and 26.

The saliva test will be administered at the Cure Insurance Arena in Trenton from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Tuesday.

Several Planet Princeton readers who have gotten their COVID-19 tests at the arena testing site have reported that it was fairly simple, and that the turnaround for test results was two to three days. Get there early if you don’t want to wait a long time in line outside.

The arena is located at 81 Hamilton Avenue. Drivers should park in the parking lot off South Broad Street to access Gate A. Testing will be conducted in the arena concourse. Bring identification that shows your Mercer County residency and a smartphone or tablet if you have one. No prescription is necessary. The test is for people ages 14 and older.
