Road work updates: Paving on Route 206 will now start on Tuesday, portions of Palmer Square to be closed part of the day a few days this week

The New Jersey Department of Transportation will be milling and paving two sections of Route 206 to repair rough roads beginning Tuesday. The work was originally slated to start this past Friday.

Work will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night unless weather conditions delay things again. Work will also take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Traffic will alternate lanes during the work, and the NJDOT will handle traffic direction and control.

The two sections of the road to be repaired are Route 206/Bayard Lane from the intersection of Nassau Street north to near the intersection with Mountain Avenue, and a stretch of Route 206 near Arreton Road.

Officials expect the work to be completed by the end of day Thursday.

Seek an alternate route during work hours if you can.

Palmer Square

PSE&G will be performing daytime utility work on Palmer Square that will require road closures from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting Tuesday, May 25 until Thursday, May 27.  The work will require the closure of Palmer Square East, and then the closure of Palmer Square South.  The roads will be re-opened to traffic at the end of each workday.  Detours will be posted.
