One lane of Scudder Falls Bridge eastbound into N.J. to be closed Wednesday morning
One eastbound lane of the Schdder Falls Bridge on I-295 will be closed on Wednesday morning, May 26, just in time for the morning commute. Drivers heading into New Jersey should seek an alternate route. Major delays are likely.
From about 5 a.m. until noon, one eastbound lane of the bridge will be closed. One lane will remain open.
The closure is part of the Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement project. The lane will be closed so work crews can make preparations for upcoming concrete deck pours on the bridge’s second new span.
Officials anticipate that delays of an hour or more are possible for drivers heading to New Jersey from Pennsylvania via I-295 and the bridge.
Motorists headed to New Jersey from Pennsylvania are being urged to consider postponing their trips or using the Trenton-Morrisville Route 1 Toll Bridge as an alternative to the Scudder Falls Bridge on Wednesday morning.
