Man fatally struck by train in Hopewell Township
A man was fatally struck by a train on the CSX railroad tracks between Titus Mill Road and Hopewell Pennington Road on Friday afternoon, police said.
A CSX train was travelling northbound when it struck the pedestrian on the tracks just before 2 p.m. After police arrived on the scene, they located the man near the railroad tracks. The initial investigation revealed the victim’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a train. The identity of the victim is being withheld until notifications are made to family members.
Rail transportation was halted for several hours after the incident.
The investigation is still active at this time. The investigation is being handled by CSX Federal Railroad Police and Hopewell Detective Alexis Mirra.
