Prosecutor’s office releases sketch of rapist who forced woman off the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park trail

The Middlesex County Prosecutor has released a sketch of the armed man who forced a woman off of the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail and sexually assaulted her near the border of South Brunswick and Plainsboro last week.

A woman was walking on the canal path between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sept. 28 when the man approached her. He was carrying a weapon. He forced her off the trail and took her to another location, where he raped her.

Police said the suspect is believed to be a Latino male, is about 5’5” to 5’6” tall, and was wearing dark-colored clothing and a dark baseball cap.  

The investigation is ongoing.
