The New Jersey Association of School Administrators has named three superintendents of the year, one from each of three regions in the state. Scott Rocco, superintendent of the Hamilton Township school district, has been selected for region two, which covers Central New Jersey.

Rocco joined the Hamilton Township School District in 2017. Prior to his service in the Hamilton Township School District, he served as the superintendent in the Spotswood Public Schools district.
The New Jersey Association of School Administrators named him superintendent of the year for his advocacy for public education, his modeling of the appropriate and positive use of social media, his other communication methods to engage educators and parents, and for his efforts to improve student learning, enhance instruction, and create effective learning environments.

Patricia Blood, superintendent of the Kearny Public Schools, was named superintendent of the year for region one in North New Jersey, and Delran Township Public Schools Superintendent Brian Brotschul was named superintendent of the year for region three in South New Jersey.

“These three remarkable chief education officers provide vision, imagination, and compassion for the students, staff, and communities they serve,” said NJASA Executive Director Richard Bozza.
