Gino Rossi of Princeton dies at 90

Gino Rossi, an immigrant from Pettoranello di Molise, Italy who was a resident of Princeton for more than six decades, died on Dec. 4 at the Princeton Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 90 years old.

Rossi worked for many years as a gardener and cabinet maker. Son of the late Vito and Michelina (Pirone) Rossi and husband of the late Maria Cristina Rossi, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law Vito and Mary Lynn Rossi, daughters and sons-in-law Micki and Vince Matticoli, and Bina and John Cifelli, sister and brother-in-law Giovanna and Achille Nini, grandchildren Jim and Emily Matticoli, Tony Matticoli, Dave and Aileen Matticoli, Vince and Anna Cifelli, Mark and Nicole Cifelli, Diane and Chris Testa, Gene and Lauren Rossi, John and Nicolle Rossi, Lisa and Chris Dressel, Christina and Justin Davies, and several cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9 at St. Paul’s Church at 216 Nassau Street in Princeton. The funeral mass can be viewed online via the St. Paul’s Church website. Burial will follow in the Princeton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at St. Paul’s Church.
