Community Works virtual conference for Princeton area nonprofits begins Monday, Jan. 30
Community Works, the annual conference for non-profit leaders, board members, non-profit staff members, and volunteers in the Princeton region, will offer more than 30 workshops online Jan. 30 through Feb. 1.
The conference begins with a keynote at 5:30 p.m. on Monday and ends with a finale by the Laughing Lovebugs yoga teachers at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Organized by an all-volunteer committee, the conference features workshops on nonprofit management, fundraising, recruiting board members, grant writing, and more.
Participants can choose as many or as few workshops as they choose. The registration fee for the entire conference is only $20. You can register online.
“Princeton Community Works is committed to helping people build skills and enabling people who want to make a difference in their communities engage and connect with one another. We believe each person has the capacity to help build their community,” said Community Works Founder Marge Smith. “Our workshops are designed to address the increased needs organizations are facing this year. Our speakers will share practical and proven strategies for empowering nonprofits of all sizes.”
The theme for 2023 is “Empowering Community: Inspire. Learn. Connect.” The Trenton Central High School Band will perform for the conference keynote, using musical concepts to demonstrate techniques for leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, and more. Band members will demonstrate what happens when teams are not in harmony, then show what can be accomplished when teams are in sync.
Twenty-five new workshop sessions will be offered this year, along with core sessions that are annual favorites. The conference will also feature 30-minute “engage and connect” sessions that anyone can duplicate online or in person to foster team building within their own organizations.
Full workshop descriptions, speaker biographies, and registration information can be found on the Princeton Community Works website.
