Rabid raccoon found in South Brunswick

A dog in South Brunswick has an altercation with a raccoon on Dec. 29 and the raccoon tested positive for rabies, police said.

The incident happened at the Rocky Top Dog Park. The dog’s owner reported it to the municipality. The raccoon was captured by the animal control officer and was sent for testing. On Jan. 3, the health department was informed by state officials that the raccoon tested positive.
