Public meeting set for Feb. 22 to discuss Princeton’s environmental resource inventory
The Princeton Environmental Commission, in partnership with municipal staff and consultant Ecotone, Inc., will host a virtual information session regarding the town’s 2023 environmental resource inventory at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22. The public is invited to join, ask questions, and provide feedback.
A zoom link for the meeting agenda will be available online before the meeting.
The last time the municipality conducted an environmental resource inventory was in 2010. The inventory provides information on the natural resource characteristics and environmentally significant features of Princeton. An inventory acts as baseline documentation for measuring and evaluating resource protection issues and serves as a tool for decision-making by the municipality, including its environmental commission and planning board. It also informs the public on the status and value of natural resources in the municipality.
The 2023 inventory will provide updated information based on new data and provide information that can inform the stewardship and protection of natural resources within the municipality to inform municipal decisions.
Comments regarding the new inventory can be submitted until March 8 by emailing engineering@princetonnj.gov.
