The following results are unofficial and don’t include some remaining mail-in ballots that have not been received by the county yet, or provisionals. Winners bolded, though again these results are unofficial. Some highlights:
- The race for council in West Windsor is too close to call, with two incumbents narrowly winning and one newcomer winning. This race looks like it will come down to a count of mail-in ballots and provisional ballots. West Windsor has nonpartisan elections. Warehouse developments have been the hot topic of the campaign there.
- The Democrats swept all of the legislative districts in the Princeton region, according to state news sources.
- The Democrats won every statewide and county race, and every partisan municipal race in Mercer County, including in Hamilton. Dan Benson beat Republican Lisa Richford by a vote of more than two to one to become the next county executive for Mercer County.
- Parental rights advocates failed to gain a stronger foothold on the Hamilton school board.
- The $13 million bond referendum passed in Princeton, but voters in Robbinsville rejected a $4.8 million referendum to cover a budget shortfall. Robbinsville voters, however, approved a municipal referendum to increase the tax rate by one penny per $100 of assessed property value to buy and maintain open space.
- Five towns had uncontested municipal races where voters had no choice at the polls. The race for Hopewell Borough mayor, and for the councils in Princeton, Pennington, and Lawrence were all uncontested, meaning voters had no choices. An unexpired term for the Hightstown Council only had one candidate.
- In school board races, only East Windsor and West Windsor had uncontested races for three-year terms on their school boards.
